Your Adventure Awaits
The Advanced Open Water course consists of five Adventure Dives that give you a taste of different diving specialties. Because two of these are mandatory, you get to choose the other three based entirely on your personal interests!
Required Dives:
- Deep Adventure Dive: Go beyond the 18-meter limit of your Open Water certification and learn to dive safely down to 30 meters (21 meters for juniors). In this dive, you will learn about managing your air consumption and the effects of deeper diving.
- Underwater Navigation Dive: Master your sense of direction using a compass and natural references. This essential skill will make you a more self-reliant and confident diver.
Elective Dives (Choose 3):
This is your chance to explore! For example, you can choose three dives from a wide range of options, allowing you to sample different types of diving. Here are some of the most popular choices in Aqaba:
- Wreck Diver: Discover the secrets of sunken ships and explore historic wrecks.
- Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver: Learn to use Nitrox to extend your bottom time and get back in the water sooner on repetitive dives.
- Peak Performance Buoyancy: Achieve perfect buoyancy control, allowing you to glide effortlessly through the water.
- Underwater Photography: Learn how to capture the beauty of the underwater world with stunning photos.
- Night Diver: Experience a whole new world as you see nocturnal marine life and witness the magic of bioluminescence.
- Fish Identification: Become a true underwater naturalist by learning to identify different species of fish.
- Search and Recovery Diver: Learn to use search patterns to find lost items and recover them using a lift bag.
Prerequisites & What to Expect
To enroll in the course, you must be:
- A certified PADI Open Water Diver (or an equivalent certification from another organization).
- At least 12 years old.
- Medically fit for diving.
Furthermore, this course is focused on practical experience. Consequently, there are no confined water dives or exams. You will spend all of your time in the water, learning and having fun under the guidance of your PADI Instructor.
