Making Waves: Coral Garden Leads Major Clean-up Dive in Aqaba

At Coral Garden Diving Center – Aqaba, we successfully launched a major Clean-up Dive campaign at the Northern Power Station site. This initiative was more than just a clean-up; it was a powerful display of community collaboration dedicated to protecting the Red Sea.

A Unified Effort for the Red Sea

This vital environmental campaign was executed with the enthusiastic participation and support of Aqaba’s most important stakeholders. Specifically, we partnered with:

  • Marine Science Station / University of Jordan
  • Civil Defense
  • Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) / Marine Park Reserve, represented by the presence of Mr. Nasser Al Zawaideh.

Furthermore, the event garnered significant public attention with the active participation of several social media influencers, helping us spread the message of conservation far and wide.

The Impact: By the Numbers

The dedication of our volunteers led to remarkable results. In total, 17 divers participated in the campaign. Over the course of the dive, we collectively managed to remove approximately 280 kg (617 lbs) of waste from the seabed.

This staggering amount of debris—composed of damaging plastics, aluminum, and glass—was meticulously collected into 40 garbage bags.

Our Message to the Community

Ultimately, protecting the sea begins with small, deliberate steps. We urge everyone to think carefully about their impact: Leave no trace behind.

Remember: Every single piece of trash you remove saves a marine creature and directly contributes to preserving the stunning beauty of our underwater depths.
